Our little town of Rosemary, Alberta might be small, but it’s certainly a bustling hot spot, especially in the summer. Nestled in the heart of Southern-eastern Alberta (just 1 hr. 45 minutes south of Calgary) in the iconic Canadian Badlands, our town is filled with character and charm that reflects our family-friendly community, rich historical roots, and down-home Canadian hospitality.
Historically named the “Land of Promise,” the landscape has helped shape the culture of our town, making it a fantastic spot to visit and enjoy the great outdoors. As well, you will find specialty dining joints, shopping galore, and of course our little meat shop amidst it all.
Here, among many, are 5 reasons why you must take a drive and visit our hometown of Rosemary this summer!
Stay overnight!
We will always try to convince you to stay longer from the very start, and we hope our friendly community atmosphere will make you feel at home to do so. We have a full-service campground, located merely 40-minutes from the Dinosaur Provincial Park, that offers 30 amp site power, fire pits, pets, free showers, and a sewer dump. Make yourself at home and stay a while!
9-Hole Disc Golf Course
Newly opened, be one of the first to make a record on this course. Never played before? We’ll teach you!
Outdoor Adventures
Our town has an incredible amount of opportunities that will get the whole family putting down their phones and enjoying the great outdoors. From historic walking trails to beautifully groomed parks, a full beach volleyball court and tennis courts. There is no shortage of fun to be had here in Rosemary!
Shopping
Whether you forgot a crucial piece of camping gear, or are just looking to purchase a unique item that will remind you of your travels, there are lots of quaint local spots to do so here in Rosemary. The General Store is a charming spot that will take you back in time a few years, but will have all the necessities that are quick and convenient, along with a few handmade gems to peruse. The Trading Post, which is opening this summer, is filled with items made by local artists and small businesses in the area, and will allow you to take home a piece of our town.
Dining + Specialty Foods
Enjoy high tea or a coffee and pastry at the Little Teapot Café and Bakery. Owned by the lovely McKirdy (you’ll fall in love with her Scottish charm), she will make your soul and stomach delightfully happy with her homemade scones that are fresh from the oven!
Spragg’s Meat Shop & Farm
Don’t forget to pay us a visit! Come check out our meat shop and pick up some delicious protein to grill up on the BBQ, and some fresh produce to go along with it. We are committed to supporting our community and offering you the best farm-to-table foods that you can get in all of Alberta. From meat to baked goods to produce, you can count on us!
Looking for the perfect time to visit? Alberta Open Farm Days will be happening for yet another year on August 17 and 18 – and of course, Spragg’s will be participating!
Come on out and learn how your bacon makes its way to your plate every morning and how this operation of ours got started – with three little pigs!
From farm-to-table, it doesn’t get any fresher than that!
