Autumn is just around the corner and, as the temperatures cool down, what better way to warm things up than with a belly full of comfort food featuring everyone’s favourite meat: pork! For many of our customers, fall is the perfect time to restock the freezer, which means our side of pork package starts to fly off the shelves! If you’re considering purchasing a side of pork this fall, we hope that the hearty recipes that follow leave you feeling inspired as the seasons change!
Autumn Crock Pot Pork Roast with Apples and Onions
Comfort food at its finest! You’ll need pork shoulder, salt, pepper, apple cider vinegar, red onion, garlic, carrots, apples, bay leaf, rosemary, and sage. Combine all ingredients in crock pot, and let sit for 4-8 hours. Serve with a side of mashed sweet potatoes and enjoy!
Cider-Dijon Pork Chops with Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Apples
This sweet and savoury dish requires 4 boneless pork loin chops, salt, pepper, olive oil, apple cider, Dijon, and unsalted butter. Create a vegetable and apples mix and set aside. Roast veggies in the oven, and cook pork over medium-high skillet. Drizzle with yummy pan sauce and serve hot!
Rich Autumn Pork Stew with Beer
We love a simple and tasty dish! You’ll need 2lbs boneless pork shoulder, salt, pepper, olive oil, onions, carrots, apples, garlic, bay leaf, tomatoes, chicken broth, beer, brown sugar, and cooked buttered egg noodles. Sautee pork on medium-high heat, and cook fruit and veggies until softened. Combine all ingredients except noodles. Bring to a boil, simmer until meat is tender, serve warm over egg noodles!
